Child Birth – Poor Dad!

A very close friend became an auntie today – but something she said got me thinking.

And its no isolated case – everybody seems to forget the mechanics behind having children.

“Little William was born today – Mother and Child are doing well” – what about bloody dad?

Dad’s probably got a burst eardrum from all the screaming, a broken hand from all the squeezing, and he’s never looking at his wife’s bits the same way ever again. The poor guy is probably shattered mentally and physically…
… or maybe people prefer to ignore the negatives on such a happy occasion.

NLP is Fart

Come on people – I just have to write a pointed post about this.

NLP is fart… stinky hot air…

Yes – NLP is making a lot of people a lot of money, but they are the NLP “Expert Practitioners” (which means they spent a week in a room osmosing regurgitatable bullshit.) and they are making money by pyramid scheme style proliferation of untested unproven somewhat ridiculous wank.

“Neuro-Linguistic Programming” is one of those “The Law Of Attraction” style hype names with absolutely no scientific basis.

  • You aren’t programming anything
  • It has nothing to do with neurons

“Linguistic” could be used in a name for NLP, but that name would have to be more like “hyping deficient linguistic accuracy

Positively Negative

Following on from my post Positively Ignorant, today I write another post regarding positivity, however this time I’m talking about the positive use of negativity.

I worked for a while within a business that had a heavily positive culture. The business was all about “Harmony” and “bigging each other up” etc. Now this was all well and good for perceived (and somewhat false) happiness, (until things went wrong,) but in terms of doing good business this proved to be a detrimental plan.

If you are too heavily into positivity and harmony you don’t leave yourself the room to “tell it how it is” – In business the problems then don’t get pointed out, hence they never get resolved. The dead wood never gets a chance to drift down stream and is instead tied to the boat with happy words and other such ego wanking.
